Accounting Manager

Job Summary

Oversee daily accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation across multiple entities (corporate, family trusts, and LLCs). Manage month-end and year-end close processes, prepare financial statements, and perform variance analysis to provide insights to senior management. Review payroll registers, post journal entries, reconcile liability accounts, and coordinate tax filings for corporate, LLC, and individual returns. Serve as primary contact for external auditors, manage 401(k) compliance testing, and collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, HR, and IT teams. Salary Range: 130K-160K. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting preferred with CPA designation. Minimum 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory/people management responsibilities
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, VLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH)
  • Proven experience with multi-entity accounting environments
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive financial data with the highest level of confidentiality and discretion
  • Successful candidates will be required to pass a background check and post offer, pre-employment drug screen

Desired Qualifications

  • CPA designation preferred
  • Experience with cloud-based ERP and accounting platforms (e.g., Great Plains/Dynamics GP, Sage, NetSuite)
  • Background in corporate and individual tax preparation, 1031 exchanges, and audit support
  • Experience with 401(k) plan administration, compliance testing, and benefit cost allocation
  • Industry experience relevant to real estate, warehousing, logistics, or freight operations a plus
