Job Summary
Accounting Manager for a distribution-focused operation in Hoffman Estates, IL. This onsite role oversees day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, financial reporting, treasury activities, sales tax compliance, and supervision of accounting staff. Key duties include partnering with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning; monitoring working capital and payments; overseeing multi-state sales tax compliance; supporting an ERP transition from QuickBooks Enterprise to Microsoft Dynamics; and maintaining internal controls. The ideal candidate has hands-on accounting leadership experience in distribution/wholesale/manufacturing environments, the ability to manage the full accounting cycle, and strong Excel skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience within a distribution, wholesale, manufacturing, industrial, or related environment
- Hands-on experience managing the full accounting cycle including AP, AR, GL, reconciliations, and financial close
- Experience preparing financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance reporting
- Multi-state sales tax compliance experience required
- Experience working within ERP systems required
- Prior accounting staff supervisory experience required
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including reporting, reconciliations, and large data set management
- Experience supporting cash flow management and working capital activities
- Ability to work onsite in the Hoffman Estates, IL area
