Accounting Manager

Job Summary

Oversee daily Accounting Department operations, including cash management, bank reconciliations, and general ledger accuracy from order entry to collection. Prepare financial statements, manage capital expenditures, and execute royalty payments while auditing invoices and correcting financial inconsistencies. Lead the team in monthly and year-end closings, budget variance analysis, and inventory cycle counts, ensuring accurate reporting to senior management and external auditors. Manage payroll, credit applications, and international vendor payments using NetSuite, while maintaining strict confidentiality and adhering to GAAP standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of 5 years of related progressive financial and management experience
  • Or a combination of 9 years of education and experience
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), laws and regulations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs with an advanced level in Excel
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality in business transactions
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment and meet strict reporting deadlines
  • Knowledge of inventory and order management with a focus on inventory turns and valuation methods
  • Understanding in Higher Education financing and the funding and dispersing of grants
  • Must be able to understand, remember, apply and communicate complex information and problems
  • Must be able to organize and prioritize thoughts, ideas, and own work schedule
  • Must be able to oversee work schedules of others
  • Must be able to apply common sense, analyze and make decisions which have significant impact on the immediate work unit
  • Must be able to express written and spoken word for internal and external communications
  • Must be able to compose materials such as detailed reports, forms, letters, manuals, presentations, etc.
  • Must be able to compute, analyze, and interpret complex statistical data for reporting purposes
  • Must be able to use basic mathematical skills including ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and to record, balance, and check results for accuracy
  • Must be able to regularly sit

  • Must be able to reach with hands and arms

  • Must be able to undergo a background check (including criminal record check)

Desired Qualifications

  • CPA license preferred
  • NetSuite proficiency preferred
  • Understanding of ERP database, tables and fields and ability to create reports from extracted data
  • Experience and knowledge of LLC set-up and management preferred
