Job Summary
Accounting Manager at a global law firm based in Houston. Responsible for supporting the Houston and Austin offices by applying GAAP and law-office accounting policy to contribute to the Finance Department's goals, managing and developing an accounting staff, and coordinating work to meet objectives. Responsibilities include interpretation and training on billing and accounting strategies, monitoring billing completion and receivables, supporting Alternative Fee Arrangement initiatives, participating in Finance Committee activities, managing the office budget and variances, and leading projects while coordinating with stakeholders. Qualifications call for a bachelor's degree in Accounting (CPA or MBA preferred), 6+ years of accounting experience, 5+ years in accounting management, 4+ years in general accounting, and proficiency with PC applications and Elite 3E or similar billing software.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- CPA or MBA preferably
- minimum six (6) years of increasingly complex Accounting experience
- minimum five (5) years of experience in an Accounting management capacity
- minimum four (4) years of experience in general accounting practices
- Knowledge of PC Applications, including spreadsheet software and Elite 3E or other billing software
