Job Summary
The Accounting Manager – AP/AR is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the company’s Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable operations across multiple business units and location. Lead end-to-end AP/AR processes, supervise an AP/AR team, manage invoice processing, vendor payments, customer billing, cash applications, collections, and aging analyses across multiple entities and regions. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and internal controls to enhance compliance, scalability, and efficiency. Collaborate cross-functionally to optimize procure-to-pay and order-to-cash cycles; forecast cash flow impacts; prepare AP/AR reporting packages, KPIs, and variance analyses for senior leadership; ensure timely month-end and year-end close activities; build relationships with vendors, customers, financial partners, and auditors. Stay current with accounting standards and best practices; participate in system upgrades, M&A integrations, and scaling projects; perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred)
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, with substantial focus on AP/AR operations
- Bilingual in English and Mandarin Chinese is preferred
- Proven experience in managing accounting teams in a high-volume, multi-location or multi-entity environment
- Deep understanding of GAAP, internal controls, cash management, and operational accounting best practices
- Hands-on experience with ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar enterprise systems
- Proven track record of leading process improvement initiatives and implementing automation within accounting operations
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills across diverse internal and external stakeholders
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets; ability to work with large data sets and financial models
- Ability to manage competing priorities, complex projects, and deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Ability to work cross-functionally and manage a team
- Experience in retail or supply chain industries is a plus
