Job Summary
Accounting Manager at the City and County of Denver leads HOST’s Finance team, supervising a staff of approximately 3-5 financial professionals. Responsibilities include auditing complex records, reconciling discrepancies, tracking expenditures, and ensuring accuracy of financial transactions within policies and fiscal rules. Provides leadership and technical guidance, assigns work based on workload, resolves complex accounting issues, and ensures compliance and fiscal accountability. Drives process improvements, monitors productivity and performance metrics, and aligns team goals with HOST’s strategic plan to improve transparency and efficiency in contracting and financial processes, while engaging with city partners to address barriers to partnering with HOST.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
- Three (3) years of full performance, professional level experience overseeing and administering functional or operational aspects of fiscal business operations
- Experience managing a team of financial professionals providing accounting functions for a large portfolio of resources
- Education & Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education
