Accounting Manager

Job Summary
Supervise accounting staff and oversee daily operations including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, cash management, reconciliations, and month-end close activities. Manage the annual external audit from preparation through resolution of requests while partnering with the Ticketing department on revenue programs and reporting. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial statements for two nonprofit entities, and lead financial system upgrades and automation initiatives. Develop and monitor internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP and accounting standards. This onsite role in Cincinnati requires 7+ years of accounting experience, advanced Excel skills, and flexibility for overtime during critical deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
- 3-5+ years of management and supervisory experience
- Experience leading annual audits and maintaining internal controls
- Experience managing budgeting and forecasting processes
- Experience overseeing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and general accounting functions, including month-end and year-end close process
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles
- Strong audit, internal controls, and compliance experience
- Demonstrated project management skills and experience implementing process improvements
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed to meet business demands, including overtime during month-end, quarter-end, year-end, audit activities, and other critical deadlines
- Must be based in Cincinnati, Ohio and work onsite at our Cincinnati office
Desired Qualifications
- CPA designation and/or a Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Experience in professional sports, entertainment, hospitality, or similar industries
- Experience with financial system upgrades and automation projects
- Experience managing nonprofit financial reporting and budgeting
- NetSuite experience
- Experience with Concur expense management system
- Experience with Adaptive Planning
- Knowledge of AI tools and technologies that enhance accounting efficiencies and reporting processes
- Strong process improvement and change management capabilities
