Job Summary
Accounting Manager for HOAMCO community management firm, leading the Community Accounting Team to deliver accurate and timely financial reporting for HOA client portfolios. Responsibilities include partnering with senior management on financial reporting, overseeing a team delivering client financial statements, mentoring staff, trainings, monthly peer reviews, issue resolution for complex transactions, supporting annual attest work, coordinating with CPA firms for tax filings, maintaining client statements, attending Board and Finance Committee meetings, performing financial analysis, and troubleshooting accounting issues. Requires five+ years of general ledger experience, at least two years of accounting management experience, a bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, experience with multi-entity statements, HOA industry experience preferred, advanced Excel, and strong communication skills. Must meet pre-employment screening and driving requirements if applicable.
Required Qualifications
- Five plus years of general ledger accounting experience
- Minimum of two years of accounting managerial experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Experience with multi-entity financial statements
- Homeowners association industry experience preferred
- Solid, natural communicator with comfort liaising with internal/external teams and executive management
- Internally motivated to achieve
- Ability to train on accounting applications, organizational processes and procedures
- A thorough understanding of accrual basis accounting
- Ability to prioritize workload
- Pro-level Excel skills
- Effective ability to troubleshoot and problem solve accounting issues
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
