Job Summary
The Accounting Manager oversees monthly client accounting closes, ensures tax and compliance obligations, maintains client communications, and leads an internal bookkeeping team. The role includes setting work schedules, leading weekly meetings, conducting performance evaluations, reviewing financials prepared for clients, implementing new clients (including complex integrations and cleanups), evaluating software tools and workflows, and leading staff training and development. Requires proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online (QBO ProAdvisor), familiarity with Xero, and tools like Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook. Minimum 5 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience in the US, plus at least 1 year of leadership and 1 year of project management experience. Salary ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 annually with relocation assistance as part of benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Certified QBO ProAdvisor + real-world experience with QuickBooks Online (preferred)
- A minimum of 5 years of accounting and bookkeeping experience with small businesses (under $20 million in annual revenue) in the United States
- At least 1 year of leadership experience
- At least 1 year of project management experience in prioritizing client expectations and assigning work to supporting staff
