Job Summary
Oversee general accounting operations by maintaining, reviewing, and verifying financial records, performing account reconciliations, event accounting, and generating reports. Manage day-to-day activities including accounts payable, general ledger, and treasury functions while auditing documents to substantiate transactions. Assist the Director of Finance with budget preparation, month-end closing, and financial statement preparation. Train and mentor accounting staff, answer procedure questions, and maintain vendor and customer files. Ensure accuracy in invoice processing, disbursement requests, and special financial reports. Maintain internal controls and financial confidentiality while analyzing trends to recommend financial actions.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of seven (7) years related knowledge, experience, and skills in accounting, account reconciliations, accounts receivable and maintenance of financial records
- Valid State Driver License
- Excellent understanding of relevant accounting standards and regulations
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communications skills
- Demonstrates excellent time management and organizational skills with an attention to details
- Ability to work ethically and maintain confidentiality
- Must possess superb verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly speak and write Business English
- Ability to apply accounting principles to the maintenance of complex fiscal and accounting records
- Knowledgeable of accounting principles and practices
- Must have excellent computer skills to include Microsoft Office and using spreadsheets and accounting software
- Ability to strategically and critically think, use good judgment, problem solve, plan and coordinate programs
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with emphasis in accounting or a related field
- CPA
