Job Summary
Prepare timely financial statements for month-end and year-end closing, including all journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations. Manage the general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and sales deduction functions while maintaining GAAP-compliant accounting policies. Lead the accounting department by hiring, training, and supervising staff, and direct the preparation of monthly financial reports that forecast business activity and compare results to budgets. Interpret operating results to recommend cost reductions and profit improvements, oversee ERP system setups for manufacturing performance, and lead annual audits and insurance renewals. Based at corporate HQ in Minneapolis, MN, this role reports to the CFO with one direct report.
Required Qualifications
- 2-5 years related work experience in manufacturing environment
- Experience with QuickBooks Online
- Strong analytical (quantitative as well as qualitative) skills including performing analysis, identifying root causes of variances and reporting results concisely
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Must possess excellent communication and presentation skills and be comfortable interacting with executive-level management
- Experience with financial modeling including scenario, sensitivity and ratio analysis
- Previous experience at an assistant controller level or relevant experience is preferred
- Experience with manufacturing ERP is a plus
