Job Summary
Compile timely financial reporting, management reports, and internal control reviews to facilitate accurate bookkeeping and financial statements. Supervise accounting operations and audit staff, including hiring, training, and assigning tasks, while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Process payroll audits, manage accounts receivable and payable, reconcile general ledger accounts, and oversee inventory and meal budgets. Direct month-end closing, monthly forecasts, and variance reports, interfacing with front office systems to troubleshoot complications. Assist in supervising the department in the absence of the Director and Assistant Director of Finance.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 full years of employment in related positions
- Supervisory experience
- 4-year college degree in accounting
- Advanced knowledge of principles and practices within the finance and hospitality professions
- Ability to investigate and analyze current activities and/or information in a specialized field involving readily available data and indicating logical conclusions and recommendations
- Ability to train and deal with management, employees
- Ability to read and comprehend reports, computer, ledgers etc
- Limited lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying up to 15-20 lbs
- Limited bending/kneeling required when arranging supplies or equipment
- Mobility -limited mobility between offices and departments
- No continuous standing required
- No climbing or driving required
- Proven leadership and coaching skills with a track record of developing a highly motivated and cross-trained group of progressive accounting professionals
- Familiarity with preferred knowledge of hotel operating systems and software
- Excellent administrative, interpersonal, organizational, written and verbal communication skills
- Adherence to hotel security policies and procedures, particularly regarding key controls, lifting heavy objects, using chemicals, and effectively reporting safety hazards and safety concerns
Desired Qualifications
- Supervisory experience is a must and preferred 4-year college degree in accounting
