Job Summary
Accounting Manager role focused on cost and inventory in a fast-growing meat/CPG environment. Own standard costing design, implementation, and governance; build standard costs across materials, labor, and overhead; develop variance reporting (price, usage, yield, manufacturing); analyze yield/shrink/spoilage for actionable operational insights; partner with operations, procurement, and co-manufacturers on BOM integrity, routing, and cost drivers; own SKU and channel-level margin analysis including freight, processing, and waste; support COGS forecasting/budgeting and ERP transition; assist month-end close, journaling, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations; build scalable internal controls and prepare for the 2026 financial audit; mentor junior team members. Requires proven ability to turn ambiguous processes into scalable finance solutions, with a builder mindset and collaborative approach across ops and accounting teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with meaningful time in CPG
- Strong cost accounting background
- Experience in inventory accounting for manufacturing or perishable environments (yield, shrink, spoilage, WIP)
- ERP experience (Cin7 or QuickBooks Online a plus)
- Advanced Excel skills
- CPA or CMA nice to have
