Accounting Manager

Job Summary
Lead and manage month-end and year-end close, prepare and review journal entries and reconciliations, produce comprehensive financial statements and cash flow summaries in compliance with CRA standards, analyze variances, strengthen internal controls, and support audits. Collaborate with Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain to align accounting processes with business needs; drive process improvements for efficiency and scalability; contribute to budgeting across corporate, branch, and manufacturing operations; provide leadership reports and insights to support decision-making. Requires 3-5 years of relevant experience, a post-secondary degree in accounting/finance, and strong Excel/Power BI skills. CPA designation or progress toward CPA is a bonus. On-site location in Edmonton, AB, Canada.
Required Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of experience in financial reporting, financial analysis, or business performance reporting
- Post-secondary education in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Strong understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly and effectively
- A proactive approach with the confidence to challenge the status quo and bring forward new perspectives
