Accounting Lead

Job Summary
Accounting Lead based in Hyderabad will drive General Ledger and close activities, including journal entry preparation, account analysis, accruals, reclasses, and month-/quarter-/year-end close support. You will review P&L postings for correct accounts and lead balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis, and close deliverables, while maintaining documentation and supporting schedules. The role emphasizes internal controls, audit support, ERP systems (Oracle/NetSuite/SAP), data validation, cross-functional collaboration with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Procurement, Operations, IT, and Finance, and opportunities for process improvement and automation. A Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 8+ years of relevant experience are required, with CA/CPA preferred; strong Excel and analytical skills are essential, and experience in a multinational corporate environment plus ERP implementations is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- CA or CPA or equivalent qualification preferred
- Minimum 8+ years of General Ledger accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting support
- ERP experience required; Oracle, NetSuite, SAP, or similar ERP systems preferred
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulas)
- Experience working in a corporate accounting, shared services, controllership, or multinational finance environment preferred
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and investigative skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to operate independently while escalating issues when needed
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, AI, continuous improvement methodologies is a plus
- Strong reconciliation and documentation discipline
- Strong collaboration skills across departments
- Professional maturity, confidentiality, and sound judgment
- High ownership mindset with commitment to accuracy and deadlines
- Experience with ERP implementations, system enhancements, data mapping, and data validation (plus)
- Strong general ledger accounting knowledge and close process discipline
- Process improvement mindset and ability to challenge manual processes
