Job Summary
Oversee day-to-day accounting and finance operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting. Manage month-end, quarterly, and annual closing processes while preparing and analyzing financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and management reports. Monitor cash flow, ensure GAAP and tax compliance, and coordinate internal and external audits. Supervise and mentor accounting team members, manage insurance policies, and provide financial insights to support business decisions. Maintain and improve accounting procedures and internal controls. This hybrid role in Honolulu requires a CPA with 5+ years of experience and fluent Japanese/English skills. Candidates must be Hawaii-based or willing to relocate.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
- Active CPA license
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience
- At least 3 years of management or supervisory experience
- Fluent business-level Japanese and English
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls
- Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Office
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Candidates must be currently based in Hawaii or willing to relocate to Hawaii
- Hybrid in Hawaii preferred; fully remote candidates may be considered
