Job Summary
Lead process automation across the accounting function by automating billing, journal entries, reconciliations, and recurring reporting. Identify manual workflows and design automated solutions using data systems, scripting, and workflow tools to reduce handoffs and improve data accuracy. Build and maintain automated workflows connecting Accounting with other departments while partnering with IT leadership to optimize systems for data integrity. Analyze accounting data to identify trends and develop dashboards providing timely insights to Finance leadership, applying machine learning techniques for forecasting and anomaly detection. Document automated processes and establish controls ensuring compliance with accounting policies. Train and support accounting team members on new tools and systems.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field
- Master's degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 3+ years of hands-on accounting experience, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a data analyst or similar analytical role
- Strong understanding of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Proficiency working with a variety of data systems, databases, and ERP/accounting platforms
- Experience with process automation tools, such as RPA, workflow automation platforms, or scripting languages (e.g., Python, SQL)
- Working knowledge of machine learning concepts and their application to data and process automation
- Self-starter who can independently identify problems, design solutions, and drive projects to completion with minimal supervision
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with AI tools and platforms is a plus
