Job Summary
Accounting Consultant needed for a one-year project to support day-to-day accounting operations, assist with month-end close, and ensure accuracy of financial records. Responsibilities include preparing and posting journal entries to the general ledger; performing monthly account reconciliations (cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, etc.); assisting with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes; maintaining and reconciling balance sheet accounts; supporting financial statement preparation and reporting; assisting with audit requests by preparing schedules and supporting documentation; analyzing financial data and identifying discrepancies or variances; ensuring compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures; and collaborating cross-functionally with other departments as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Two + years of accounting experience (public accounting or industry)
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar) preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
