Job Summary
Accounting Clerk / Bookkeeper for Surface Experts franchise system. Responsibilities include providing bookkeeping services and basic accounting direction for franchisees, reviewing and categorizing bank and credit card transactions into the standardized chart of accounts, recording customer payments to maintain AR, performing monthly and quarterly reconciliations (including reconciliation with job tracking software and QuickBooks), assisting new franchise owners with QuickBooks setup and chart of accounts integration, ensuring books are GAAP-compliant, and meeting with franchisees to clarify transactions and provide financial literacy training. The role requires familiarity with GAAP, strong organizational skills, adaptability to new systems, and proficiency with software/tools including QuickBooks; a Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting or 2+ years of relevant experience is required. Starting compensation is $25-$28 per hour, with full-time on-site hours and benefits such as holidays, vacation, health benefits, and a flexible schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Familiarity with GAAP
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting or 2+ years of relevant work experience
- Strong organizational skills
- Comfortable with technology and adaptable to new systems/processes
- Experience with QuickBooks and basic accounting
- Ability to review and classify transactions in chart of accounts
- Experience with bank and credit card reconciliations
- Ability to assist with onboarding franchise owners and provide QuickBooks training
