Job Summary
Prepare day-to-day financial transactions by verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data while investigating discrepancies through vendor account reconciliation. Generate and process customer invoices accurately, ensuring billing data integrity regarding pricing, quantities, and discounts in adherence to company policies. Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, process employee expenses, and maintain billing records by updating client information in the billing system. Follow up on outstanding payments and prepare regular reports on billing activities and accounts. This role supports other finance functions within GEMTEC, an employee-owned multidisciplinary consulting firm expanding across Eastern Canada.
Required Qualifications
- Certificate, diploma or bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- Awareness of billing software and accounting systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- Strong numerical and data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities, able to meet deadlines consistently
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Ability to work overtime during peak times and to meet deadlines
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity and discretion
- This is a brand new role as we continue to grow and expand across Eastern Canada
- This position will be based in our head office in Fredericton, NB
- Permanent full-time (37.5 hours per week)
