Job Summary
Accountant responsible for executing inventory management, project costing, fixed asset accounting, depreciation, and financial reporting cycles. Oversees inventory accounting, labor capitalization, project cost tracking, and reporting; assists in the project costing cycle by integrating inputs from multiple teams into fixed asset accounting. Applies critical thinking to maintain day-to-day processes, builds cross-functional relationships, and contributes to process improvements to support growth. Supports monthly close, regulatory reporting, and audits, while maintaining documentation and ensuring accurate financial data for stakeholders. Reports to the Senior Accounting Manager and collaborates with Finance and Accounting teams to uphold accuracy and efficiency in a dynamic environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial accounting, preferably with emphasis in project accounting, fixed assets and financial reporting
- Basic understanding of GAAP and accounting practices; utility experience preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (Oracle Fusion, PeopleSoft FCM, Microsoft Dynamics NAV or similar)
- Ability to stay organized, work independently, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
