Job Summary
Provide general accounting support including preparing journal entries, account and bank reconciliations, and supporting account schedules. Support the Controller with month-end and year-end closing and the annual audit, and maintain internal controls and a comprehensive set of financial records. Prepare consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger; coordinate complex accounting projects with Accounting and Finance, analyze financial information and make recommendations; ensure accuracy of general ledger entries, perform variance analysis, and maintain data integrity. Recommend new accounting processes, document internal controls, and respond to accounting questions by researching data. Update knowledge through ongoing learning and professional engagement. Manage, mentor, and train new accountants and accounts payable/receivable staff; oversee month-end and year-end processes, loan computations, and related financial activities; ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable tax reporting, and provide strategic financial insights to improve performance. Requires Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, at least 2 years of experience, QuickBooks proficiency, and in-office availability in Odessa, TX.
