Job Summary
Accountant at TOPS Products HQ in Naperville, IL, partnering with finance, operations, and supply chain to maintain accurate financial records, support the close process, and ensure GAAP compliance in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include posting journal entries, maintaining the general ledger, supporting month/quarter/year-end closes, completing reconciliations (inventory, fixed assets, accruals), inventory valuation and adjustments, standard-cost updates and variance analysis, revenue-related activities (invoicing, credit memos), cross-functional collaboration for accurate financial reporting, supporting internal and external audits, and upholding internal controls. Strong Excel and ERP (D365) skills, analytical mindset, and ability to communicate across finance and non-finance teams are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2–5 years of financial analysis experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Solid understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles
- Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with ERP systems (Microsoft D365 preferred)
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally with operations and non-finance stakeholders
- Detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
