Job Summary
Accountant at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts focusing on event-based accounting, grant accounting, contribution processing, daily ticket sales reconciliation, general ledger close, financial reporting, and prioritizing automation and technology to improve accuracy and efficiency. Requires 4 years’ experience and a bachelor’s degree in accounting; GAAP accrual accounting knowledge; proficiency with Sage Intacct and Ramp preferred; nonprofit/performing arts accounting experience strongly preferred. Responsibilities include end-to-end event reconciliation, grant accounting, donation processing, parking and ticketing revenue handling, accounts payable/receivable, month-end close, and reporting to support annual audits, with an emphasis on automation and data integrity. Required Qualifications
- 4 years’ experience in accounting
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Experience in non-profit performing arts/venue accounting strongly preferred
- Experience with Sage Intacct and Ramp preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accrual accounting
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, including advanced Excel skills
