Job Summary
Manage a diverse portfolio of clients by handling bookkeeping duties using cloud-based accounting software like Xero and Dext. Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with Making Tax Digital (MTD) regulations and generate year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies. Communicate with clients to gather information, resolve queries, and explain financial matters while providing support to the senior team during client reviews and planning processes. Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations. This flexible, primarily home-based role offers exposure to a variety of clients and industries within a supportive, collaborative culture.
Required Qualifications
- Solid experience working in an accountancy practice environment
- Proficiency in cloud accounting software, like Xero (or similar)
- Strong understanding of VAT, bookkeeping principles, and accounts preparation
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong communication skills, with a client-focused approach
