Job Summary
Accountant will be responsible for keeping and maintaining proper books of accounts for the preparation of annual, statutory and group reporting accounts. Key responsibilities include reviewing financial statements for accuracy and legal compliance, preparing and filing tax returns, entering accounting data, inspecting books for efficiency, GAAP journal entries, calculating accruals, bank reconciliations, maintaining fixed assets, preparing balance sheet and P&L reconciliations, performing monthly P&L analysis with explanations for variances, year-end close activities, supporting audits, liaising between AR/AP/finance/IT, identifying revenue initiatives, and implementing actions to improve metrics. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting and at least 5 years of accounting experience; Fintech experience and professional certification (ICAN or equivalent) are a plus; strong Excel and data-analysis skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or any other relevant discipline
- Minimum 5 years of prior general accounting experience
- Experience in Fintech space is a plus
- Certification in Accounting related is a plus
- Membership of relevant professional bodies such as ICAN is a plus
- Strong Excel skills (XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, Pivot tables)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
