Job Summary
Professional accounting role supporting the Finance Administration with responsibilities including managing a semi-monthly payroll cycle, payroll reconciliations, tax and retirement reporting, and ensuring compliance. Will develop and maintain payroll procedures and internal controls, support automated time and attendance systems, collaborate with departments and schools on timekeeping and leave reporting, produce audits and validation procedures to ensure data integrity between timekeeping and payroll systems, provide ERP-related training and end-user support, and assist with general ledger maintenance, year-end processes, and annual audits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
- 3-5 years’ experience preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of governmental accounting and data analytics
- Knowledge of accounting and payroll software processes and internal controls
- VRS reporting, school finance operations, state reporting requirements preferred
- Effective communication, written and oral
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google applications
- Understanding software logic in finance, accounting, payroll
- Ability to collaborate with staff and meet deadlines
- Leadership, adaptability, and flexibility
- Alternate qualifications as appropriate
- Support for transition and administration of payroll cycle
- Auditing payroll activities for accuracy and compliance
- Timekeeping and leave reporting
- Data integrity between timekeeping and payroll systems
- ERP system functionality monitoring and support
- Training and end-user support
- Documentation of processes and user guides
- Professional accounting work including reconciliations and journal entries
