Job Summary
Accountant for St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Kansas City, Missouri. Responsible for managing parish and school financial operations including parish financial statements, budget reporting, accounts payable/receivable, year-end reporting, and audits. Essential duties include assisting with parish and school budgets, processing GL entries, invoicing, deposits, payroll, reconciling ledgers and tuition revenue, recording parishioner contributions, generating annual contribution statements, and preparing financial reports for the Pastor and Finance Council. Requires an undergraduate degree in business/finance/accounting (or equivalent experience), at least three years of accounting experience, and proficiency in QuickBooks or similar software. Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in business, finance or accounting, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of three years’ experience in accounting, bookkeeping or related field
- Intermediate to advanced skill level in QuickBooks or similar accounting software
- Active Catholic in good standing is preferred, though familiarity with the Catholic understanding of ministry is required.
