Job Summary
Prepare and post journal entries, perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, and assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure accurate financial reporting under U.S. GAAP. Support accounts payable, receivable, and fixed asset activities while maintaining prepaid expenses, accruals, and intercompany accounts. Drive improvements in speed and accuracy during the close cycle, ensure SOX compliance, and assist with external audits and tax preparation. Uphold sales and use tax compliance across states and participate in process improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 4+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience
- Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Advanced proficiency in ERP systems
- Strong Excel skills
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities
- Business-minded with a proactive, hands-on approach to supporting operational leaders
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and project management skills
- High integrity, sound judgment, and a continuous improvement mindset
- Familiarity with job costing, WIP tracking, and event/project lifecycle financials
Desired Qualifications
- CPA
- Prior experience in public accounting
- Experience in a multi-entity environment
- Experience in a manufacturing/distribution environment
- Proven success in managing month-end close, financial reporting, cash management, budgeting, internal controls, audit support, sales and use tax ownership, and tax coordination
- Experience in a lean, fast-paced, private equity-owned middle market business environment
- Ideally NetSuite
- Familiarity with job costing, WIP tracking, and event/project lifecycle financials
