Job Summary
Prepare financial statements, tax returns, and activity statements for individuals, companies, partnerships, and trusts while liaising with the ATO on behalf of clients. Advise business owners on tax legislation, identify opportunities for business planning and structuring, and proactively detect compliance issues. Conduct salary interviews and complete tax returns during client appointments, contributing to the efficiency of internal operating systems. Mentor junior team members to foster professional growth within a cohesive public practice team. Work reasonable hours with access to senior leadership for development. Required Qualifications
- Accounting Degree qualification
- Proven Australian experience in a Public Practice Accounting firm
- Strong understanding of accounting, compliance, and tax, including income tax, CGT, FBT, and GST
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, managing time to consistently meet deadlines
- High proficiency with Accounting software packages
- Xero Certified Advisor
Desired Qualifications
- CA or CPA certification
- Experience mentoring SMEs on general business planning, financial management, asset and trading structures
