Job Summary
Analyze data to complete monthly journal entries, including multi-entity allocations and inter-company transactions, while providing supporting documentation. Perform monthly account reconciliations, resolve identified issues, and assist with financial statement preparation and review for external auditors. Evaluate existing accounting operations to recommend process improvements and interpret accounting records for management use. Identify uncovered accounting issues and bring them to the manager's attention. Participate in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams. Comply with governmental and accreditation regulations while remaining current on healthcare accounting standards.
Required Qualifications
- Candidates must be located in the DC/MD/VA region
- Occasional meetings at a MedStar location
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- 1-2 years of related experience in a public or private accounting setting or healthcare or multi-entity setting
