Job Summary
Coordinate day-to-day accounting and financial activities within the assigned organization, analyzing bank accounts, billing statements, and financial systems to ensure data integrity. Prepare, review, and reconcile General Ledger accounts, accruals, and supporting documentation while researching discrepancies and recommending corrective actions. Provide technical accounting guidance to managers and stakeholders, assist with developing internal controls, and prepare financial reports and briefings for mission stakeholders. Maintain accounting data in sponsor financial systems, support financial forecasting and budgeting, and participate in system enhancements and audits. Ensure compliance with U.S. Government financial regulations and federal accounting standards.
Required Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph
- Bachelor's or Master's degree
- Degree in Accounting or a related field with 24 accounting credit hours
- 4 years of professional accounting experience
- demonstrated knowledge of financial management, accounting, auditing, or fiscal control
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Knowledge of Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Board (FASAB) and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) standards
- Experience analyzing financial statements, General Ledger accounts, reconciliations, and financial reports
- Experience identifying financial discrepancies and recommending corrective actions
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present financial information to technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple organizations
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting federal government financial management or Intelligence Community organizations
- Knowledge of federal appropriations law and government financial regulations
- Experience with Working Capital Fund accounting and financial analysis
- Experience supporting financial system implementations, testing, or enhancements
- Experience preparing tax documentation or supporting government audit activities
- Experience with enterprise accounting or financial management systems
- Experience developing financial forecasts and supporting budget planning
