Job Summary
Conduct month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure accurate financial statements and internal reporting. Manage general ledger activity, account reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries while maintaining compliance with Cost Accounting Standards, FAR, and DFARS. Partner with operational and FP&A teams for proper cost allocation and revenue recognition. Support external and internal audits, including DCAA/DCMA reviews, by ensuring audit readiness and documentation. Monitor internal controls, financial policies, and accounting procedures. Assist in developing automation initiatives and provide supervision and mentorship to team members. Prepare technical accounting analyses for government contract accounting and new standards. Handle annual tangible property tax returns, 1099 reporting, and state/local tax filings. Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the finance organization. Requires CPA or CMA, 3+ years in defense contracting, and active security clearance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP, CAS, FAR, and DFARS
- Experience supporting audits and maintaining robust internal controls
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including team management or supervisory experience
- Proficiency with ERP systems (ex: Deltek Costpoint, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and classified information consistent with government security requirements
