Job Summary
Accountant II, Financial Reporting will support the preparation and analysis of financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders; execute journal entries, prepare analytical reports, and assist in the month-end close across STAT, GAAP, and IFRS; contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management reports, and board presentations; collaborate with cross-functional teams; research accounting principles and industry developments; assist with annual budgeting activities; coordinate with internal and external auditors; requires detail-oriented, analytical, multitasking capabilities; proficient in Excel and PowerPoint; hybrid work arrangement with a minimum of 3 days per week in the Saint Louis, MO office.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, business management, business administration or a related field is required.
- 1 or more years of relevant accounting experience in accounting or the insurance industry
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and complete responsibilities within established deadlines
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment
- Detail-oriented mindset with strong analytical and multitasking abilities
- Ability to learn new systems and technologies
- Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
Desired Qualifications
- CPA designation
- MBA
- Experience with PeopleSoft
- Experience with STAT, GAAP, and IFRS accounting principles
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams
