Job Summary
Prepare moderately complex monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement analyses for Senior Accountant review. Compile Entity Financial Report Packages and analyze variances to support budgeting and decision support functions. Provide training, coaching, and backup assistance to Accountant I team members while collaborating with Operations Partners. Work with external auditors during the year-end audit process and participate in physical inventory counts. Adhere to Service Level Agreements with Entity Financial Leadership and meet all deadlines with accuracy.
Required Qualifications
- A Baccalaureate Degree or degree from an accredited college or university
- An Associate Degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of eight years of work experience
- A satisfactory combination of education, training, and experience
- Two to three years of account reconciliation experience
- One year of general accounting work
- The ability to work independently
- Experience in the healthcare industry or a not‐for profit business
- Working knowledge of healthcare operations
- Month end closing processes
- Cost allocations
- A strong working knowledge of Excel
- A strong working knowledge of Word
- Must be adept at working with detailed financial data and statistics
- Maintain good communication skills with Senior Accountant and Accountant I
- Meets deadlines
- Completes work thoroughly and accurately
- Participates in committees and projects as assigned
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in the healthcare industry or a not‐for profit business
- Familiarity with PeopleSoft/Oracle
- EPIC
- Report writer experience
