Job Summary
Support Agency awarded funding stewardship by optimizing every dollar for mission work aligned with Social Determinants of Health and trauma-informed care principles. Perform daily accounting, clerical, and administrative tasks for the business office while coaching Accountant I team members. Manage budgets, prepare accurate reports, and conduct month-end closes using GAAP and grant/nonprofit accounting practices. Analyze transactions, utilize statistical and financial metrics to measure organizational performance, and communicate effectively with program staff. Maintain confidentiality and pass background checks. Fluent in English and Spanish is desirable. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field and three years of experience including reconciliations and journal entries.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum of three years of accounting experience, including reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, and general ledger review
- Working knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, audit preparation, and grant/nonprofit accounting practices
- Proficiency with accounting software and Excel
- Ability to analyze transactions, prepare accurate reports, meet deadlines, communicate effectively with program staff, and maintain confidentiality
- Must pass background checks
- State of Texas vehicle operator's license and proof of liability insurance, as applicable
