Job Summary
ACCOUNTANT II - AVIATION position performing technical accounting, financial recording, and analysis duties; oversees financial operations within an assigned area and may supervise Accounting Technician staff; prepares comprehensive financial reports including Balance Sheets, Income Statements, and Statements of Cash Flows; audits postings to the general ledger and coordinates with outside auditors; manages accounts payable, payroll, and credit-card processing; provides guidance to Department Heads and municipal officials on complex fiscal matters, budget considerations, transfers, and expenditures; requires strong knowledge of GAAP, budget preparation, internal controls, and proficiency with accounting software, with duties performed in a general office environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- Three to five years of experience in Accounting, preferably within a municipality
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work.
