Job Summary
Calculate and prepare monthly reports for provider productivity by analyzing charges and researching patient account information. Maintain productivity reporting software, generate accurate detailed reports, and monitor non-patient billing for DOT, pre-employment physicals, and drug screens. Process monthly statements, verify charges, and correct discrepancies on a routine basis. Assist Senior Accountant and Controller with statistical reports, the monthly close process, journal entries, and bank reconciliations. Manage hospital contract records, database users, and the semi-annual ER Time Study. Compile accurate data for Executive Council presentations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting or a closely related field
- Basic understanding of accounting functions

- 1-2 years of relevant experience in accounting
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in a health care related setting
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to effectively determine priorities and plan workday with minimal supervision
- Ability and willingness to meet deadlines, including those of a last-minute nature
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong problem solving techniques and interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent computer skills and the ability to adapt to various programs/systems
- Ability to communicate face to face and via telephone with patients and co-workers
