Job Summary
Accountant I - GL, Payroll, Benefits role in a non-profit healthcare-adaptive finance team. Responsibilities include maintaining and analyzing general ledger accounts, researching errors, preparing journal entries (including IT inventory and PTO accrual), ensuring GAAP-compliant financial reporting, assisting with monthly/annual financial reporting, performing account analyses and reconciliations, providing back-up for payroll and benefits journal entries, reviewing timesheets, preparing payroll-related reports (e.g., BLS, SAIF), reconciling payroll reporting to the general ledger, and supporting annual audits and internal control procedures. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, at least two years of relevant experience, strong Excel skills, familiarity with Sage 100 and Sage Fixed Assets, and the ability to work in a hybrid office environment in Tigard, OR.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting strongly preferred
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a similar position required
- Experience in healthcare and/or non-profit is preferred
- Knowledge of GAAP and accounting concepts/principles required
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data sorting/formatting) required
- Experience with payroll and benefits is preferred but trainable
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to meet deadlines and work accurately under pressure
- Experience with Sage 100 and Sage Fixed Assets is preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
