Job Summary
Conduct audits of departmental and agency records, maintain general ledgers, and reconcile accounts. Prepare and analyze budget variances, cost allocation plans, and year-end accruals while monitoring contracted service providers. Supervise clerical staff, assign work, and evaluate subordinate performance. Prepare financial statements, cost reports, and clear written research materials using accounting and database software. Operate personal computers with spreadsheet and word processing applications. Perform related duties as required.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- If the major has been in a field other than accounting, at least 15 semester or 25 quarter units of college level accounting courses must have been completed
- Evidence of having passed all four parts of the Uniform Certified Public Accountant examination
- Possession of a Certified Public Accountant certificate
- Status as a senior accounting student at an accredited college or university
- Official notification verifying admission and senior accounting student status in the college or university
- Possession of an active California Certified Public Accountant certificate
- Possession of a valid Class C California driver's license
