Job Summary
Obtains and maintains a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure. Prepares accurate daily sales journal entries, audits food servers', bartenders' and retail cashiers' financial transactions, and verifies business transactions such as funds received and disbursed. Manages payables and receivables, reconciles financial discrepancies, and balances all accounts payables and accounts receivables. Prepares and provides management with daily sales statistics, Profit & Loss Statements, and Balance Sheet. Ensures company financial records are maintained in compliance with company policies and US GAAP. Performs month and year end closing activities, works with 1099 vendors to ensure compliance, and advises management on needed actions regarding federal, state, and local financial legal requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or closely related field
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in similar position, preferable in the restaurant industry
- Experience with General Ledger reconciliations, cash and debt accounts, fixed assets and payroll taxes
- Proficient in QuickBooks, Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail and deadline-oriented
- Time management skills
- Ability to work independently and meet set standards
- Ability to work under pressure
