Accountant (General Ledger)

Job Summary
Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and execute month-end close processes, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and government contracting regulations (FAR/DFARS). Collaborate with manufacturing/operations to analyze inventory, WIP, overhead absorption, and variances for costing; prepare complex journal entries; reconcile balance sheet accounts; develop standardized reporting and KPI dashboards for leadership. Apply GAAP to transactions, coordinate with internal/external auditors (DCAA), and support audit schedules. Drive process improvement and automation using AI-powered accounting tools, and establish scalable policies and workflows for sustained growth. Proficiency in SAP, advanced Excel, and data visualization, with CPA or CPA candidacy a plus; US citizenship and potential security clearance may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
- 3–5 years of experience in general ledger accounting, preferably within the manufacturing or defense industry
- Strong proficiency in US GAAP, experience with ERP systems (SAP), advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) and familiarity with data visualization tools
- CPA or CPA candidate a plus
- Experience with DCMA/DCAA or government contract accounting is preferred
- U.S. citizenship is required
- Position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, if needed
