Job Summary
Set the company's revenue recognition policy under ASC 606, leading the end-to-end close process and directing external accounting resources. Own platform and publisher reporting by reconciling statements from Sony, Microsoft, Valve, and PC cafés, while establishing treasury strategy and leading ERP transformation efforts. Drive cross-functional alignment with business, publishing, analytics, and live ops to shape revenue insight and financial rigor for the studio. Represent the finance function in high-stakes conversations including external audits and due diligence. This strategic role defines Bonfire's long-term financial approach as the studio builds its first original IP, Arkheron. You will operate with significant autonomy in a fast-paced environment to build systems and judgment that ground leadership decisions.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of accounting experience
- 7+ years in video games
- track record of building or overhauling revenue recognition frameworks
- Know ASC 606 well enough to originate policy positions on novel monetization models before precedent exists
- Have led relationships with major publishers and platform holders
- Are deeply fluent in deferred revenue modeling, virtual currency accounting, and international royalty structures
- Have shaped how a studio approaches deferred revenue modeling, virtual currency accounting, and international royalty structures
- Have led an ERP evaluation or migration
- Can make the business case for systems investment
- CPA
