Job Summary
Prepare and submit claims, invoices, and billing for government-funded programs and contracts. Enter financial data into systems accurately, gather backup documentation for audits, and record, monitor, and reconcile accounts receivable activity. Track program expenditures against approved budgets, prepare financial schedules and the Consolidated Fiscal Report, and assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting processes. Investigate discrepancies, provide backup support for payroll, cash receipts, and reimbursements, and collaborate with staff to ensure accurate reporting. Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with organizational policies and accounting standards.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of accounts receivable or related accounting experience
- Basic understanding of accounting debits and credits
- Good math skills, including an understanding of percentages and allocations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, databases, and finance/accounting software
- Strong communication, organizational, and data entry skills
- Experience with reconciliations, financial recordkeeping, and financial reporting
- Ability to analyze financial information, identify discrepancies, and manage multiple deadlines and priorities
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with nonprofit accounting
- Experience with government contract billing, claims, or grant accounting
- Experience with Sage Intacct or similar accounting software
- Experience preparing financial schedules, cost allocations, or regulatory reports
