Job Summary
Finance Project Specialist & Accountant role within the European Finance team in Ghent, Belgium, combining coordination of finance projects (ERP implementations/upgrades, AP/AR harmonisation, VAT reporting, post-acquisition integration) with hands-on accounting activities (group reconciliations, cross-entity coordination) and back-up support for Group Controlling & Reporting. Responsibilities include driving process standardisation and automation, managing project documentation and timelines, contributing to monthly/half-year/year-end closings under Swiss GAAP FER, statutory reporting and transfer pricing documentation, collaborating with local finance teams, IT, auditors, and external advisors, ensuring internal controls and policies, and bridging operational finance with group-level stakeholders. Proficiency in English is required; German is advantageous. Hybrid work arrangement in Ghent, Belgium.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years in finance & accounting in an international, multi-entity environment
- Proven track record coordinating finance projects (ERP, integrations, process improvement)
- Solid international accounting knowledge; Swiss GAAP FER a plus
- Strong Excel skills; comfortable with ERP systems and modern finance tools
- Curiosity about AI tools — hands-on experience is a plus
- Fluent English; German a strong advantage
- Structured, hands-on, self-driven, with strong ownership
