Job Summary
Accountant on MNP’s Cross Border Individual Tax team delivering customized tax strategies within a complex regulatory framework. Responsibilities include assisting in the completion of U.S. and combined U.S.-Canadian individual income tax return preparation for U.S. citizens living in Canada, U.S. residents working in Canada and Canadians working/investing in the U.S.; cross-border income tax and estate planning; expatriate policy and compensation design; evaluating Canadian and U.S. income tax policy; collaborating with client teams; communicating with clients and government agencies; and maintaining flexibility to travel as necessary. Skills include strong knowledge of Canadian and U.S. individual income tax, CPA-PEP progression, exposure to tax software, and ability to prepare technical reports and client summaries.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration (accounting or finance major preferred)
- Enrolled in CPA Professional Education Program (PEP)
- 1 to 2 years of relevant public accounting or tax services experience
- Working knowledge of Canadian and U.S. individual income tax
- Experience with accounting and tax software
