ACCOUNTANT - ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE

Job Summary
Manage accounts receivable functions including preparing and processing customer invoices, posting daily cash receipts, and reconciling subledgers to the general ledger. Investigate payment discrepancies, follow up on outstanding balances, and prepare aging reports to support revenue reporting and cash flow projections. Assist with month-end close activities, audit preparation, and budgeting while maintaining compliance with GAAP and internal controls. Collaborate with operations and billing departments to improve revenue cycle processes and maintain accurate customer account records. Participate in community events within the Bridgeway Academy Organization.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree with equivalent accounting experience
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience with significant accounts receivable responsibilities
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Experience with accounting software and ERP systems
- Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial reporting
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
- Experience with financial reporting and reconciliations
- Strong understanding of internal controls and financial compliance
- Occasional evening and weekend work
- Travel is primarily local during the business day and some evenings as required of the role
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Experience with nonprofit accounting
- Experience with grant or program billing
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as Sage, Microsoft Dynamics, QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar
- Experience with audit preparation and financial statement support
