Job Summary
The Accounting & Compliance Specialist is an accounting position responsible for the processing, analysis, interpretation, and management of financial accounting data. Typical Functions include reviewing and processing Workday transactions for compliance and accuracy, preparing and posting accounting journals and budget amendments, generating state/federal/ad-hoc financial reports, assisting with year-end processes, performing general ledger reconciliations, supporting budget preparation, participating in the development of new processes, and ensuring adherence to GAAP and institution policies. The role requires knowledge of accounting principles and proficiency with Microsoft Office/Excel, with preferred qualifications including 2 years of relevant professional experience, Workday Financials experience, and higher education or state government exposure.
Required Qualifications
- The formal education equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or related field.
