Job Summary
Conduct month-end close activities including posting invoices, preparing journal entries, and performing job profitability analyses across multiple service lines. Generate and distribute invoices while managing account reconciliations and processing adjustments or credit memos. Provide customer service regarding open receivables, collection issues, and revenue discrepancies, coordinating with internal leaders on sales contracts and billing matters. Assist the Accounting team with process improvements to streamline revenue tasks and shorten the close cycle. Requires 3-5 years of revenue or project accounting experience in professional services, strong proficiency in Excel, and a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA or CPA track highly desirable.
Required Qualifications
- At least 3-5 years revenue or project accounting experience in professional services, management consulting, or billable service industry (construction, legal, public relations, advertising agency, accounting firm, etc)
- above-average knowledge of accounting and finance principles
- great attention to detail and accuracy
- Significant experience and/or knowledge of revenue recognition principles, including, but not limited to, deferred revenue recognition, accruals, allocation across business units, identification of performance obligations and when they are completed, etc
- Dedication to the timely completion of all tasks
