Accountant (12-month contract)

Job Summary
As an Accountant in Brookfield's Business Services Group, you will maintain financial records, facilitate financial close processes, prepare journal entries, analyze reconciliations, and manage intercompany balances. You will support year-end audits and collaborate on budget inputs while executing internal control procedures. Ideal candidates will have over 2 years of full-cycle accounting experience, a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, and a CPA designation or eligibility for CFE. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, as well as proficiency in financial systems and MS Excel, are essential.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years experience performing full-cycle accounting
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent in relevant work experience
- CPA designation or scheduled to take the CFE within the next 12 months
- Attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills
- Flexibility to work additional hours when needed
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Financial Systems such IFS, Blackline, IT2, OneStream or similar systems
- Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS and US GAAP)
- Strong MS Excel skills (including vlookup and pivot tables)
- Experience in working in public listed companies (in US or Canada)
